1 July 2008 - Planned Outage at TPP Global Switch Site (no service disruption expected)

Our internet connectivity service provider has advised that they will be carrying out a hardware upgrade that will affect the internet connectivity for all customers located within the Global Switch data centre.

This upgrade will occur on Tuesday 1 July between 4am and 6am AEST; the actual outage duration expected is 5 minutes.

TPP Internet has redundant internet connectivity at this site, so no outage is expected as a result of our service providers upgrade.

19 June 2008 - Emergency Outage on Broadband Network

Recently, customers using our Broadband services may have experienced unforeseen service disruptions. This was due to unreliable power sources affecting our Broadband suppliers’ Mega POP in NSW.

Our supplier has advised that power stability could not be guaranteed in the short term. In order to prevent this issue from occurring again, our supplier is actioning an immediate re-location of their NSW Mega POP.

To ensure ongoing redundancy/failover our supplier is relocating their NSW Mega-Pop to two separate locations within NSW. As a result of the relocation, Broadband services may be unavailable for a period of time on Friday 20th June between 3.00am and 9.00am (approximately).

We apologise for the inconvenience this may cause and thank you for your understanding.

19 May 2008 - .au Registry Connection Outage

We have been made aware of issues with the .au registry connection since the .au registry performed an upgrade yesterday afternoon.

As a result of the upgrade yesterday, no registrations, renewals, updates, transfers or delegation requests are able to be processed for .au domains. This issue is affecting all .au registrars.

We are currently working with the .au registry to get the issue resolved as quickly as possible; at present, we have no guidelines on the time frame for resolution.

10 April 2008 - Introduction of Planned Maintenance Windows Across the TPP Internet Network

We will be introducing scheduled maintenance windows to complete regular maintenance and upgrades as required across the TPP network. These scheduled maintenance windows will occur between 11pm Thursday and 3am Friday (AEST) every second week commencing on Thursday 10 April 2008.

We may not utilise each and every scheduled window, nor the entire time allotted for each scheduled window. Should any maintenance within a scheduled window be expected to take longer than 30 minutes, a notification will be posted on our System Status page (http://status.tppinternet.com.au).

We have chosen the time frame for the scheduled windows to have minimal impact on our customers.

Should you have any questions regarding the scheduled windows, please contact your account manager via partners@tppinternet.com, or 1300 655 491.

7 April 2008 - Email Delays on control.tppinternet.net.au

Customers with email accounts hosted on control.tppinternet.net.au are currently experiencing delays in receiving mail.

This is as a result of one customer, hosted on control.tppinternet.net.au, that has used their webmail account to send a large number of SPAM messages, and the email bounce backs have clogged up the mail queue.

We have disabled this customer’s account, and are currently working to clear the SPAM from the mail queue. We expect that the queue will be cleared by this afternoon/early evening, and mail delivery will return to normal.

We apologise for the inconvenience caused.

7 & 8 March 2008 - Planned Outage Completed Successfully

The final planned outage required to complete our network upgrade to improve the reliability and stability of our infrastructure was completed at 6.45am Saturday 8 March 2008.The below services are now back online:

  • TPP Internet websites
  • Online Management System
  • Hot Goanna website & Service Manager
  • API Automation
  • Domain Name Shop websites
  • Primary Name Server (brigh.twoplums.com.au)
  • Product provisioning is also available with the exception of .au domain transactions (registrations, renewals, transfers, delegations and contact updates). We will be working with the .au registry to restore .au domain transactions as soon as possible, and expect to have this available again early Saturday morning.

Customers should be aware that some of the TPP Internet domains (such as twoplums.com.au and tppinternet.com), in addition to being delegated to brigh.twoplums.com.au and mutley.twoplums.com.au, were delegated to a tertiary name server ns2.ozhosting.com. This name server has not yet updated the changes in IP address for the TPP infrastructure, so some customers may not be able to access the TPP Internet websites as yet. We expect that this will be resolved over the next 48 hours.

Should you experience any issues, please contact our customer service team on 1300 665 491 or email techsupport@tppinternet.com, and we will assist you to resolve the issue as soon as possible.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank all of our clients for their patience during this period.
