Premium Domain Name Sales

In line with recent changes in .au policy (see here for more information), TPP Internet launches a new service for domain name owners wishing to sell their domain name. Our new tool will not only allow you to list your domain name for sale, but will actively promote the domain name to our customers as they search for a domain to register. As the owner of the domain you may set any price you wish, with the only cost for our service being a 15% commission if the domain name is successfully sold. Contact your Account Manager on partners@tppinternet.com to register your interest in this new service. Starts July 1.

.au Policy Changes: .au domain names can now be sold!

.auDA, the .au policy regulator, has recently announced changes to the .au legal ownership transfer policy. As of 1 June 2008, registrants will be able to offer their .au domain name licence for transfer to any other eligible entity for any reason. This means that registrants will now be able to sell their .au domain name licence. To prevent registrants from registering domains purely for resale, .auDA has stipulated that a licence transfer is prohibited within the first six months of registration. Should you have any questions, please contact us on 1300 665 491 or send an email to partners@tppinternet.com.

Massive upgrade for Footprint Hosting

Think big - get almost unlimited traffic and up to 500 domains with our Premium Footprint Hosting product! We have increased the hosting resources allocated for all our Footprint products in response to feedback from our customers. You now have access to generous increased resources, such as increased data transfer and more domains. Please view our Footprint Hosting site for more details.

In addition to more traffic and domains, you can now manage both Dr Web Anti Virus and Web Statistics (AWStats or Webalizer) via your Footprint Hosting accounts. Footprint clients can now protect their hosting clients further by enabling Dr Web Anti Virus for them to scan both incoming and outgoing (if applicable) emails for viruses. As a Footprint client, you also have the choice of enabling AWStats or Webalizer for your clients to track web statistics.

Frontpage and ASP no longer supported

TPP Internet no longer supports Active Server Pages (ASP) or Microsoft FrontPage, as neither are compatible with our hosting platform. Microsoft stopped supporting Microsoft FrontPage in December 2006 (see Microsoft site for more details). Since this time, we have had numerous customers experience problems with FrontPage, and have made the decision to discontinue support for FrontPage across our hosting platform. Following extensive consultation with Plesk and a number of operating system upgrades undertaken by our System Administration team, we have removed ASP support across our hosting platform.

Introduction of ModSecurity

ModSecurity has now been rolled out across the TPP Internet hosting platform to increase the security of the platform and help prevent malicious attacks for the protection of all our hosting customers. ModSecurity works by logging traffic to web applications, and controlling flexible security rules to help prevent malicious attacks.

Some ModSecurity rules may disable certain features of applications that are judged to be a security risk. If you believe that ModSecurity may be preventing an application from working on our hosting platform, please email us at partners@tppinternet.com with your domain name, details of the application you are trying to use, and the steps that you are following to try and get a specific feature working, and we will access whether or not a ModSecurity rule is affecting your application. Please allow up to two business days for us to investigate.

For further information on ModSecurity, please visit http://www.modsecurity.org/projects/modsecurity/apache/index.html.

Australia Day Operating Hours

Telephone and email support will be unavailable on Monday 28 January 2008 as our office will be closed for the Australia Day public holiday. We will resume our normal operating hours of 8.30am to 6pm AEDT, Monday to Friday from Tuesday 29 January 2008.

WHMCS API Integration

TPP Internet has an exciting announcement for resellers using the WHMCS (http://whmcs.com) client management/billing/support system. WHMCS have developed a module within their platform to connect to TPP’s API. This means that you no longer have to develop an interface to β€˜talk’ to our API, you can simply use your WHMCS account to order domains and other related services available via our API.

Should you wish to use this module within the WHMCS platform, you will need to contact your account manager via partners@tppinternet.com and provide your IP address that you will connect from. We will then enable your reseller account for API access and provide you the test environment login details that you enter into your WHMCS account. You can then connect to our API via your WHMCS account – it is that simple!

Once you are satisfied with your testing in the API test environment, you can change to the production environment by updating the TPP API module login details in your WHMCS account to your Online Management System client account number (without the β€˜CL-’) and password. For further information regarding TPP’s API, please visit http://resellers.tppinternet.com/automation/automation-api.php.

TPP Internet is one of only three Australian registrars that WHMCS has integrated into their platform. WHMCS is the Complete Client Management, Billing & Support System for Web Hosts. It features advanced client management and product options, flexible recurring billing, automated provisioning on over 10 different control panels, integrated domain registrar support and a comprehensive support suite of tools. For further information regarding the WHMCS platform, please visit http://whmcs.com.
