We are in the process of upgrading our network and server infrastructure, and in preparation for these improvements we need the assistance of all existing Domain Name Shop customers with externally managed DNS to make changes to the way in which their Domain Name Shops are currently configured. Customers will receive a specific email shortly explaining these changes.
Customers will need to remove the existing ‘A” record for their Domain Name Shop hostname (pointing to 202.125.172.103) and replace this record with a CNAME to my.domainnameshop.com.au. It is recommended that customers work with their DNS hosting provider to drop the TTL (Time To Live) of their Zone File prior to making this change to avoid downtime to their Domain Name Shop site.
Customers who have DNS hosting with TPP Internet do not need to make this change; we will coordinate this for them.
It is requested that customers coordinate this change with their DNS hosting provider prior to Friday 15 February 2008.

We experienced an outage on our database server this morning affecting the TPP Internet websites (http://www.tppinternet.com and http://resellers.tppinternet.com), Online
Management System, Service Manager and API.
This outage lasted approximately 20 minutes and was caused by our co-location provider removing an incorrect server from our rack. We have now had the server reinstalled in the rack and reconnected, and services have resumed as per normal.
We sincerely apologise for the inconvenience caused.

Further to our notification on 15 January 2008, we have been notified by the Australian Business Register (http://www.abr.business.gov.au) that the outage to their ABN/ACN Look Up Tool used for the policy checking of .au domain name registration applications has been extended to 7am Tuesday 29 January 2008 (AEDT).
As we are unable to validate the registrant entity ABN/ACN details provided on .au domain registration applications, no registrations for .au domain names will be submitted to the registry during this period. Automated policy checking will resume once the maintenance has been completed; any queued applications will then be submitted to the registry.
Please note that if a policy check fails, and we are unable to verify the registrant entity using the ABN/ACN Look Up Tool, the domain registration application will be manually checked by our provisioning team once TPP Internet resumes business at 9am on Tuesday 29 January 2008.
We apologise for the inconvenience caused.

The planned network maintenance that was scheduled for 11pm Thursday 24 January 2008 on the NPH Broadband Network was completed at 12 midnight Friday 25 January 2008. There are no outstanding issues and it is expected that all customers services should be back online, with no further interruption expected.

We will be conducting planned network maintenance between 11pm Thursday 24th January and 4am Friday 25th January 2008 (AEST).
During this period an outage of up to 45 minutes will occur as a result of the shutdown of our core router. At this time all DSL, Ethernet and mail services for NPH clients will not be operational. Clients resolving through the NPH DNS servers will also be affected.
