This week, we have launched a new functionality for our reseller customers that use our Footprint hosting products. You may now fully re-brand our DNS and Mail servers using your own hostnames.

This means that while using our hosting services you can delegate your customers to name servers like dns1.yourcompany.com.au once you have enabled this service. This new functionality appears in the ‘client details’ screen of the Online Management System.

As you may already know TPP Internet has been supplying shared WEB and
EMAIL hosting products for a number of years. Over the last year many
customers have asked us about dedicated hosting products and we have
spent the last 6 months working on it. On 1st June we were proud to
introduce our new dedicated hosting products.

For customers looking for dedicated hosting there are two options they
would normally consider. The first one is a dedicated standalone box,
and the second is by utilising “virtualised” servers, commonly running
under the VMWare platform. Standalone boxes certainly have their place,
but in our view the fact that our customers would be reliant on a single
PC with its inherrent reliability and single point of failure issues
was a big concern. If a hard disk, a power supply, memory or any
hardware failed, the customer is off the air.

With this in mind we decided on a VMWare platform. With this system you
get all the benefits of a dedicated server, but with none of the
drawbacks of a standalone box. Your server runs over multiple machines,
that share the load and in the event one piece of hardware fails, it
still keeps running. We call this “ultra-reliable serving” and to back
it up we provide a 99.99% service level guarantee.
